Various events - all around the year - complete the offer. Including the well-known harbour festival, the cultural night and the midnight race. Many other, interesting destinations are located around Heiligenhafen. Such as the island of Fehmarn, the ferry boats along the "Vogelfluglinie" to Denmark, different sea centers, museum yards and Germany's only adventure park by the sea - Hansa-Park. Historie Old Town
Heiligenhafen - a city with over 700 years of history. From the marketplace and the town hall, built in 1882, you'll be able to walk through the alleys with its typical brick buildings. Learn something about the history of Heiligenhafen in the local museum, go along the church hill with the old town church, to the oldest still preserved building of the city, the salt store. At the same time you can enjoy the lively activity in the numerous cafes, restaurants and shops.

Inland Lake-Promenade
Observe the arrival of the fish cutter in the communal port every day from around 3:30pm, home of the largest ocean fishing fleet in Europe. With the typical smell of fish and salt, a fresh fish sandwich directly from the cutter at the mole tastes pretty good. Also you can go for a fishing trip or on one of the harbour cruises. In addition to the restaurants and pubs around the harbour is worth a little stroll through the tranquil harbour passage.

Marina
Between our adventure pier and the fishing harbour you can find one of the biggest and most beautiful marinas at the Baltic Sea with a capacity for over 1.000 sailing ships spread over 14 anchor bridges. Besides amazing photographs, the marina promenade offers barbecue facilities, a maritime playground and the possibility to peek into a real sailmakers business. Relax on one of the stone stairs going into the water and watch the ships leak out or stop by for a light snack.

Fishing Port

Beach & Adventure Pier
Over 4 kilometers of sandy beach in a unique dune landscape extand from the holiday park in the west to the "Graswarder" in the east. Enjoy your leisure time with your feet in the water or lounging in the sand or in one of the around 900 beach baskets, including nudist and dog beach sections. Nearby "tower 7" the 435m long adventure pier rises into the Baltic Sea. On two levels there is plenty to discover: children's play areas, seating and resting possibilities, bathing area and even a glazed ocean lounge.

Rough Cliff Coast
Together with the "Steinwarder" the "Graswarder" forms a peninsula, which is at the same time a bird and nature reserve. There is also a hiking and biking trail along the wooden and reed-covered houses, without any traffic. This natural beauty can also be experienced along the beach. The "Graswarder" is the home of numerous plant and animal species. Up to two times daily there are guided nature tours available. A place of very special silence and relaxation.

Holiday Park Aktiv-Hus
No time for boredom at the holiday park. There is something offered for everyone: from the adventure golf course, bowling alleys and lanes, a cinema to the event pavilion with a varied program. Right in the middle the all-weather suitable "Aktiv-Hus" with shopping boulevard, viewing platform, the indoor children's playground "treasure island", a sports arena with beach volleyball, climbing wall and archery, as well as a spa with sauna area, swimming and whirlpools, sauna and solarium.

Rough Cliff Coast
An extensive walk along the rocky shore leads to the rough cliff coast of Heiligenhafen. A beacon indicates that the trip is almost completed. Shaped in millions of years this place is less a place for bathing than a place of relaxation for nature lovers. In the past there were numerous fossil finds, so that many people still look for amber, but also shells or stones. Climb up the steep slope and enjoy the fantastic view on the ocean.
